Gold Gourami
Trichogaster trichopterus
Description
Gold Gourami. Common & Latin Name : Gold Gourami ( Trichogaster trichopterus ) Care level: Easy Max Size: 15cm Diet: Omnivore Temp: 23-30°C PH: 6-8 Purchase size: 4-5cm Gold Gourami are a captive bred colour variant of the blue gourami and a regular favourite among aquarists. They are often added as the feature fish in medium aquaria and kept with smaller shoaling fish. They can be somewhat aggressive, but this can be countered easily. Males are competitive with one another and this can be seen in the marbling on their bodies. The marbling becomes more intense with the level of power a fish has within the aquarium. Offering these fish an aquarium of 1m or longer allows more than one to be kept at a time. If males and females are to be kept together, the females should outnumber the males three to one so.
