Description
Costae Tetra (Moenkhausia costae) - (3 Pack) 1-2" Unsexed. Remarks: The costae tetra ( Moenkhausia costae ), also commonly known as the black line tetra, is an uncommon gem of a South American tetra within the hobby. They have elegant, silver, partially see-through bodies and a unique, slanted, black stripe starting at the base of the anal fin and ascending up to the tip of the upper caudal (tail) fin. When costae tetras turn in the light, they shine with an iridescent blue-green sheen making their appearance all the more eye-catching. Like with most tetras, costae tetras are highly social and live in massive schools in their native, Brazilian habitats within the Rio Sao Francisco and Rio Itapicuru. This social behavior carries over into the home aquarium where this species is known for being one of the tightest schooling tetras within the hobby. Source: Imperial Tropicals live fish catalogue.
