They are a really beautiful little fish that’s fairly peaceful in temperament and perfect for a South American community. The aquarium should be at least 60L in size with soft acidic water and dark substrate. This will help your little Pandourini feel safe and right at home, so they will spend more time out in the open. Plants are recommended as these fish will use them as hiding places as well as territory markers. Caves and flower pots are often used in Apistogramma tanks and will offer great spawning sites for breeding pairs. Floating plants will help diffuse lighting, which will make your Apistos feel safe.
